Many abilities (and items) have a number of keywords associated with them. The main difference between spells and (active) abilties is that the use of spells are limited to the amount of casts that can be made at each power level, while abilities operate independently of each other and have an associated resource cost. Spells are simply abilities cast by spellcasters ( Druids, Priests, and Wizards). Some unique permanent bonuses found in-game are now classed as status effects. Talents are not prominently featured in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and now fall under the same umbrella as passive abilities. There are four super pets: Animancy Cat, Eviee, Grog, and Xopn'aua, each providing more substantial effects than regular backer tier pets. All backer pets cost 300 in-game.Īdditionally, there was a $2,000 "Create a Super Pet" tier, which allowed backers to select any creature in the game (or a custom one), as well as the buffs it would provide. This allowed eligible backers to name a dog, cat, or pig, picking its color from a list of existing textures as well as its effects. Many of the pets in the game were the result of the $500 "Name a Pet" tier, available to backers during the Fig campaign.
